Sepia Scenes #39 - Down in the Valley

Down in the Valley, originally uploaded by AnnieElf.

There's a road I like to travel
I find it twice a year
Cares and worries all unravel
Hearts undress and peace is near

"...hearts undress and peace is near". What a wonderful way to put it. I never thought of things in this context. I feel my heart undress when I approach the ancient Flinders Rangers up north, the topography of this area is a geologists delight, and sacred to our Aboriginal people also.Your poem describes this relaxation and openess of the heart so well Annie!! - (I hope to get around to your tag soon btw)

G'Day, Just dropping by for a visit. Love and laughter from me to you.
Xtraordinary. Good word.I liked your suggestion the best.
I love roses. I pruned about 20 of them today and some of them had not been pruned for god knows how many years and were monsters with some branches 12 ft long and climbing through trees. So I have lots of little cuts, scratches and stiff hands. But I am pleased to say I beat them, all in one day. I had been missing having them in my garden and volunteered to do someone else's, silly me. Well..... they were at my boss's rented house and I got paid for doing them. :) I can't wait to see the results in a few months time.

Wonderful image! I love the framing on this. It reminds me of an old black and white TV set - so appropriate for this sepia toning. :)
I too love 'hearts undress and peace is near'! A beautiful thought. After reading Pam's comment I realized that's exactly how I feel about coming home after I've been away.

Dear Annie,
Beautiful poem to a pastoral scenery.
Like the others I found the stanza "hearts undress and peace is near" Stunning.
I shall not destroy your art with more words.
Thanks for sharing.

This has a bucolic look, and the sepia makes this view now the same as 100 years ago. Peaceful and beautiful!
