Furlough Friday #8

It's funny how all the plans of a day wash out. I had planned to go to a restorative yoga class today with Biene but then Biene called and she wasn't coming into town. Then I started waiting for Elaine to call and HER plans changed too. So much for doing anything, but, no matter.

It wasn't a total lose. I went to morning Mass with Kris and we had coffee at HOJ after. Then we went to take care of an oil change and she ended up buying a couple of tires too. Since my afternoon plans had washed out, I stayed close to home and loved it.

I mended the beading on one of Krista's favorite t-shirts and since I was on a mending roll, I also fixed the tear in a crocheted tablecloth. I used invisible thread to mend the hole and that, as they say, was that. Together it took less than an hour to do both but I waited months to do them. I think my guardian angel's name is "When the Spirit Moves Me".

Dinner was turkey leftover from last night, yams, and salad with tomatoes, radishes, and cucumbers. Blue cheese dressing topped it. I think we are going out later to have a dish of ice cream and maybe hang at Borders for a while. Food issues remain on track. I am noticing that my body is getting used to the diminished carb intake and my sugar cravings have lessened considerably.

Quanah called with some heartening news. He was called twice this week to substitute. He could not take the first job but the same school called back again today and he got four hours in. Then the Red Cross called. He had submitted his resume there as well and he is have a preliminary interview tomorrow. Finally - some movement. Thank you God.

And so ends the first day of my three-day weekend. Another Furlough Friday has come and gone. I'm feeling good.

While these "Furlogh" days started out a little shakey(no kidding), it seems as though you are turning them into mental & spiritual health days! Sounds like a perfect day! xoxo

On my last job I didn't work on Fridays and I loved it. Enjoy your furlough friday's, it sounds like you are. Mending getting done, wow I am impressed. Congratulations on the change in diet.

I am praying for Quanah to get that job at the RC. Still no prospects here - not even temp jobs. I didn't think I would ever get tired of staying at home but I am.

Dear Annie,
Your Furlough days have been turned into blessings, eh?
I, having furloughs all week, find life most interesting.
I am privileged and can choose how I want to use my (diminishing) time and capacity.
It's Sunday and we are going to church at 11 am.
I am so thankful.
What blessings He has in store for us.
Day by day.
From Felisol

I'm thinking you are making more of furlough days than anyone I ever heard -- and that's great! Good news about Quanah!
