Elaine and I met for coffee at Olde Tyme Pastry this past Saturday. Our particular worlds collided as I worked in my art journal and she studied for her data storage/retrieval software exam.
As I examined this photo, I was also struck by the many subtle shades of yellow quietly glowing here - a lady of a certain age pushes back time with her champagne yellow hair, her purse, soft and yellow, nestles against her, yellow/gold shoots through the upholstry of the seating, a warm golden glow rises from the apricot scone, Elaine's highlighter rests next to her coffee, the yellow in the beneath of my cat's coat. So much soft, gently pulsing yellow giving life to an otherwise ordinary moment.

Cool photo. I thought the 'lady of a certain age' was actually a mannequin. She looked so posed and still. Then I read your words. I like the two worlds idea.
I loved 'pushes by time' - that is so me and my red hair. :)
Subtle shades yes, but a nice image of everyday happenings.
Your art journal looks really nice. I started one a few months ago with one entry. I'm curious what you decide to put in it.
Very nice photograph with small touches of yellow. I hope your day is filled with sunshine.
nice touches of yellow!
WOW! that is an amazing shot...many thoughts swirling from looking at this
The yellow purse specifically touched me sitting next to the older woman.
this is a wonderful photo
the perspective is so personal and timeless
Annie, You are so observant. I tell you, I'd much rather be doing what you did there - drawing - than what she is doing! I don't even know if I could study anymore. I wish I had a friend to go to a coffeeshop with and work on a project.
such pretty yellows!
What a cool photo...was it on purpose? :)
Very mello yellow. I like it very much, Annie!
That's a very full and interesting photo!
"an otherwise ordinary moment" - I love the way you have described this photo. It's almost like analysing a painting, and so poetically.
and another apropos word verification - outaings!!
