The light edges make the angles seem alive, with their corona. I try not looking back that much, I need to reach forward. I must learn from my failures though, else I'll never get better. You know, the evil likes to hold my sins up in front of me with his scary mirror. I smile and yes, yes, but I am a forgiven sinner. From Felisol
I am entirely in sympathy with you on this Elise. Looking back with regret is a useless activity but our experiences are instructive and if we pay attention to the lessons we gain from them, we will learn and improve.
One of the old style American terms we use of the devil, the evil one, is Ol' Scratch. I enjoy referring to the evil one as Ol' Scratch. I find the name very demeaning. Here's more about the name, it's meaning and its roots.
Enjoy. *********************************** Old Scratch or Mr. Scratch is a folk name for the devilish character in the local legends of New England and pre-Civil War America. The character is exemplified in the short stories "The Devil and Tom Walker" by Washington Irving and "The Devil and Daniel Webster" by Stephen Vincent Benet. It is possible that the local legends containing this name were influenced by Faustian stories brought to North America by German immigrants. Old Scratch is also referred to in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, and in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
The angels are from God, and the view here of the angels sums that up. We need to ignore our forgiven sin of the past and go forward. we can be sure that we will stumble, but as it is said 'with God all things are possible'. We need to recognize the forward moving angel!
Love the statue and the words! I think we do need to look back not to dwell but like you said to learn. I came to learn long ago you can't change the past you can only bask in the hope of tomorrow. Thanks for your wonderful comment Annie. :)
This is a nice thought. Thinking about it, sepia is torn between the past and the future.
Love the poem. So fitting with the angel. It's like no matter we've done in the past, with angels who guide us (in the form of family and friends, or even just acquaintances - or other things or being that makes us see clearly), with move forward with hope.

About Me
Annie
Daydreaming, dreaming, making dreams come true have taken center stage in my life. I even changed my blog to think of the future, not reflect on the past. I know what is important to me. I know all the roads not taken and how these roads have played out in my real life. The end results are often so different from my dreams, that I've finally come to the understanding that dreams are just starting points after all.

Isn't it wonderful to have digital cameras and take photos from all sides?
Don't these look nice in sepia? I agree with your thoughts in this post.
