Yesterday, Quanah sent me this picture of this chapel in St. Peter's Basilica. It's called Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He sent it to me because he went to Mass multiple times in this chapel when he was studying in Rome. He believes the tabernacle was done by Bernini.
I think we must all know of places in the world we have never been, and yet we see pictures and they have meaning and perhaps warmth and comfort and reassurance. This chapel is such a place for me.
I look at this beautiful interior, and the people worshipping there and I can imagine Quanah in this holy space. It comforts me that there was a time his life led him here. Such places give me hope in a world filled with so many trials and horrors. The impact of such beauty, the knowledge that we humans are capable of creating such beauty and sustaining it through the centuries, gives me hope for our future.

You're so right, Annie. There are places we've never been to -- yet they feel like home.
It is a beautiful place.
Hi! Annie, I think the warm feeling comes from being at piece with ourselves and knowing there are those tranquil places still out there we would just truly love to be right now...I know I feel that way too often.
Dear friend I was thinking of you the other day - just a small simple thing really but promise me you will watch for the postie.
Hugs Lee-ann
It is beautiful. Congratulations on losing the 5lbs.
that is what I love - the absolute pure faith of the people worshipping there... it gives me hope. xo
It is great that through photography and film we can see the places on this earth that we would never otherwise see.
That is a beautiful photo. It feels good just looking at it.
